Niederländischer Mid-Century Sessel von Koene Oberman für Gelderland, ...

995.00 EUR

This lounge chair with armrests was designed by Koene Oberman around the 1950s, and is newly upholstered in a dark blue Ploegwool. The chair comprises a bent and painted metal frame and original teak wooden armrests (these have a different grain in the wood). During the 1950s Oberman, owner and designer of the furniture company Gelderland, set the company on a more modern design road, driving the furniture to change from solid wooden pieces, to industrial, open and more transparent lines of design. Oberman designed only a couple of pieces for a small period in time, after which he attracted other designers such as Rob Parry to work for him.
